- (12/4/1755 Gorz, Slovenia-11/17/1828 Vienna); aka Caucig, Franz or FrancPainter and proof-reader. Studied in Vienna, Bologna, and Rome. In 1820 became director of the Wiener Akademie. Working in the Neo-Classical style, he preferred mythological and history paintings.
